Benson Issarow

Benson Issarow is a registered medical doctor currently working at the Mwanza Intervention Trials Unit (MITU) as a research coordinator in a randomised controlled clinical trial of a social worker intervention designed to reduce post-hospitalization mortality in HIV-infected adults in Mwanza region, Tanzania. Before joining MITU, Dr Issarow worked in several studies at Bugando Medical Centre (BMC), including a study to investigate the associations between HIV and schistosomiasis among male adults in Mwanza region, and studies on the management on hypertension and severe traumatic brain injury. Dr Issarow’s research interests are on non-communicable diseases and adolescent health.
