Gladys Mbwanji
Gladys Mbwanji holds a medical degree from the Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences and a Master’s in Epidemiology degree from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She is a Research Coordinator for a trial titled “A dose reduction immunobridging and safety study of two HPV vaccines in Tanzanian girls (DoRIS trial)”. The overall aim of this trial is to determine whether the one and two dose schedules of the two HPV vaccines, in HIV negative Tanzanian girls aged 9 to 14 years, produce immune responses that are non-inferior to those observed when 3 doses of these vaccines are given to girls of the same age, over a 9-year period. Gladys previously worked at MITU as a clinician of this trial; a Research Fellow at the Catholic University of Health and Allied Sciences at Bugando, Mwanza, Tanzania; and as a clinician in several HIV studies at Ifakara Health Institute in Ifakara, Tanzania.
