Imma Kapinga

Imma Kapinga’s career path has been driven by her passion for international development with a particular focus on women and girls. She has worked for non-governmental organisations within and outside Tanzania managing a range of projects. This includes projects aiming to empower women and girls both economically and promoting health seeking behaviors, child protection for MVCs, HIV/AIDS prevention, family planning and maternal newborn and child health, social marketing and behavior change communications.

She has also worked for a global civil society organization, CIVICUS, in Johannesburg campaigning and fighting to strengthen civil society and citizen engagement and action around the world coordinating Africa chapter of Global Call to Action against Poverty. Imma holds a degree in Political Science with a major in International Relations; and is currently working at MITU as Deputy Coordinator for the MAISHA Study.
